Through his poetry, David Cotterill describes the arrival of the British in Sydney Cove, western expansion across the Blue Mountains, the Bathurst Wars of 1824, and culminates on the Turon River with the gold rush of 1851. During this period, at least 50-60% of the Wiradjuri tribes in the Bathurst region were removed from the cultural map.
