From the publisher of The Dressmaker, a crime novel set in a country town full of landscape and memory.
Bella Greaves is semi-retired and edit's Katoomba's local newspaper. She is content but just a little bored.
When disgraced homicide detective Paul Ruel is exiled to the Mountains, his superiors expect him to resign from frustration. Then he uncovers a crime that has been covered up for years, and turns to Bella for help.
She finds Paul just as intriguing as the investigation.
"It has come to my attention there is a detective active in the Blue Mountains with certain similarities to myself. Obviously we are completely different people, although I admire his taste in suits." – Gary Jubelin, former Detective Chief Inspector
Finally, the Blue Mountains is the scene for a delicious tale of adventure, mystery and a murder or two, that had me hankering to drive on up and scout out the local area again. A fun read and am keen to see more in this instalment. Yes please!
I'm absolutely flattered that Michael Duffy has written a book about some of my adventures in our little town. I never thought when I first spoke to him that he'd be so interested as to record some of Katoomba's dark secrets. About time!
